Saturday, August 9th
We'll have nice long rides as we visit Polly's Coffee in Belmont Shore. All rides at 8 AM today.
There are two rides at 8 AM. The 68 mile Blue works you across the University area of Irvine before bumping you over Turtle Ridge and Newport Coast to reach the PCH. Then you blast up the coast to the fringes of Long Beach and our destination. An unusually easy 62 mile Green takes you directly to the coast around Back Bay, and then heads up the PCH to our stop.
Sunday, August 10th
Sunday is the first of our 7:30 and 8:30 rides as we head over to Bruegger's Bagels in Corona del Mar at Goldenrod and PCH, or the Starbucks across the street.
Two routes have been conjured up for riders at 7:30 AM. Longer and more difficult is a decidedly nontrivial 41 mile Gold which takes you through Laguna Hills and up into Aliso Viejo to tackle a few favorite climbs, including Aliso Creek, Wood Canyon, and Pacific Park. After coming down Aliso Creek to El Toro Road, you'll roll down to Laguna Canyon to hit the coast for a few miles on the rollies of the PCH to reach Corona del Mar. Far easier is the 37 mile Blue. It takes you to Laguna Canyon Road via Quail Hill, whereupon it's a straight blast down to the coast and up the PCH to our stop.
Most riders at 8:30 AM will take the pleasant 30 mile Green route. It takes you across Irvine using Campus, Sunnyhill, and Shady Canyon before pushing you up Turtle Ridge and the easier side of Newport Coast. It drops you back to the lowlands via Spyglass, San Miguel, and other local and familiar roads before the final couple of miles on Bayside and some local Corona del Mar streets to arrive at Bruegger's. Also available is a quite easy 23 mile Lilac, which takes you directly to the coast via Back Bay and thence a few miles southward on the PCH for a relaxing jaunt to our stop.

Weekday Rides
Tuesday / Thursday evening Rides
The OCRR holds twice-weekly evening rides during spring and summer, with the duration changing appropriately as the daylight increases through the Summer Solstice and then decreases over the summer months. There are always two routes, a faster, longer, and hillier Blue and a gentler Yellow. Andrew, Chuck, Jess, and Rich are your hosts for these rides. We depart Windrow Park at 6 PM sharp.
Occasional Wednesdays
Join the Brunch Bunch crowd at 9 AM for a ride that usually incorporates a light sit-down restaurant meal.
